Mam Tor views from the sumit are not to be missed. Owned by the National Trust, Mam Tor is best approached across the limestone moors from the direction of Peak Forest.From Bakewell, take the B60012 to Calver and Grindleford and continue to Hathersage. Turn left to follow the A6187 up Hope Valley to Castleton, and continue up the Winnats Pass, then turn right at the top. There is a small car park, although if you have bikes on a bike rack, be aware this may not be a secure area to leave your motor home unattended.

The stunning scenery of High Tor cliffs surround Matlock Bath town. There is a chair lift that takes you to the top of the cliffs with amazing views of the town below. Renishaw Hall

Derbyshire is a delightful county to explore in a motorhome and offers plenty for visitors. One interesting place to visit whilst in the area is Renishaw Hall, a grand house with gardens which dates back to 1625.

The estate encompasses 300 acres and includes 8 acres of famous Italianate gardens. Inside the Hall reveals a luxurious interior and antiques from Chippendale furniture to a portrait by John Sargent.

Renishaw Hall was once host to The Antiques Roadshow and was even featured as a filming location for the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice in 1995.

Sudbury Hall

Derbyshire and the Peak District are fantastic parts of the UK to explore by motorhome. Whilst in the area Sudbury Hall has much to offer visitors. Sudbury Hall is a 17th century house famous for its lavishly decorated interior. Other notable features are the limewood carving and the Great STaircase- named as the finest in England. Located within the hall is the much loved Museum of Childhood with plenty to enjoy by adults and children alike.

Sudbury Hall was even used as a filming location for several period dramas such as the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice and the 2006 television series Jane Eyre.

Sutton Scarsdale Hall

Sutton Scarsdale Hall is a ruined stately home in Sutton Scarsdale, just outside Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Worth a trip in your Motorhome to see this former Georgian mansion with gardens, it was built in 1724 to the designs of Francis Smith. It has been roofless since about 1920 when parts of the building were dismantled and sold, some shipped to the USA.
